Updated Design: NC LIVE Hosted Proxy Error Pages

As part of NCLIVE's efforts to keep our EZproxy instances current and user-friendly, we refreshed the design of the EZproxy error pages that users occasionally encounter when accessing resources through EZproxy. These error pages will now feature a refreshed, more-user friendly design with NC LIVE branding.

The redesigned error pages have been applied to EZproxy instances for libraries using NC LIVE Hosted Proxy and NC LIVE Proxy (NC LIVE Password, Barcode Pattern Matching).

Here is a list of the pages that were added and updated:

  • Administrator Login - Login page used by NC LIVE and library staff to access and administer EZproxy.
  • Menu - A generic menu page used if a user logs into EZproxy without specifying what URL they are going to. Lists the library's resources defined by the EZproxy stanzas.
  • Logout - A page served to the user if they logout of EZproxy manually.
  • Cookie - Informs the user that cookies are required to use EZproxy.
  • Deny - The user is denied access due to a problem with their account (over fine limit, etc).
  • HTTPS - An error page served if the user tries to access EZproxy via an unsecured HTTP connection.
  • Needhost -  An error page served to the user if they try to access a resource that EZproxy does not have a stanza for. Instructions for adding the stanza and accessing OCLC's database stanza list are also included.
  • Suspend - An error page served if a specific user's account has been temporarily suspended by EZproxy. Usually this is due to a user hitting the maximum number of login attempts.
