Updates and news

Gale will be releasing an update to Testing & Education Reference Center (TERC).  The test-taking experience is being migrated from BenchPrep to D2L (Desire2Learn), an online learning platform and a recognized brand in the LMS space.

This change will automatically go live on June 25. A notice has been added to TERC to alert end-users to this change.   Gale wants to make sure you are all aware, should you receive any questions.

Benefits of this enhancement include:

On Wednesday morning, May 27th, we will be performing OS updates on our servers. This could result in a short proxy outage between 7:30am and 8:00am for all libraries using NC LIVE Hosted Proxy, barcode or password authentication.

North American Women's Letters and Diaries has upgraded to the newly-enhanced Alexander Street LAZR platform.

No action is required.
We have changed the NC LIVE link to direct to the new platform. If you are using the NC LIVE link, no action is required. https://www.nclive.org/cgi-bin/nclsm?rsrc=132

All links to the legacy platform will automatically redirect to the new platform in June/July 2020.

Key benefits of the new platform:

Starting with January 2020 reports, NC LIVE is using COUNTER 5 reports for Gale and ProQuest, instead of COUNTER 4 reports. We are using the COUNTER 5 DR D1 (Database Search and Item Usage) Report.
